Released in 1990, Israel Vibration's "Praises" is packed with hits performed by Wiss, Skelly, and Apple, backed by the original Roots Radics. The lineup features the legendary Style Scott on drums (later joining ON U SOUND in London), Flabba Holt on bass, Dwight Pinkney on lead guitar, Bingy Bunny on rhythm guitar, Sticky on percussion, Mallory Williams on keyboards, and a brass section led by Dean Frazer on saxophone, Nambo on trombone, and David Madden on trumpet. Produced by Doctor Dread, the album hadn’t been reissued on vinyl since its original release, with only one CD re-release in 2004 by Nocturne. For this occasion, it features a new remaster, a 350g cover, honoring the greatness of this iconic album.

This classic album, which launched the Brazilian singer onto the international stage following his role in the film City of God, features collaborations with French producer JĂ©rĂŽme Pigeon and Matthieu Chedid. Blending covers (including Elvis Presley) with original compositions, CRU also opened doors for Seu Jorge in cinema, notably with his Portuguese covers of David Bowie songs in Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic. Two decades later, CRU remains a timeless work, marked by artistic collaborations and strong social commitment.
